Resistance

Driving

Oh, i was going to come in and tell everyone how happy i was to pass my driving test, and how the P-plates which sis gave me can finally be used, and how i'm deciding between getting a weekend-car or renting first, and how i can finally drive to Gombak and not have to walk that hideously long uphill route, and how much i look forward to driving my parents to go 'bai4 nian1' next CNY.

Until i failed.
Then i wanted to blame my instructor for not making sure tt i picked up the right habits of checking blind spots and slowing down, but i realised tt it will make me sound like a sore loser, so i didnt.

oh wait, i did.

p/s: the poor and incorrect use of commas is intentional. the poor and incorrect handling of the driving test is not.

Whats in a name

My mum wasn't feeling too well this morning so i accompanied her to see a doc at Clementi Central and we went for breakfast after that. Never one to miss the chance to eat the very good Wanton/Shui Jiao Noodle(Boon Kee), we ordered 2 servings and prepared $4.40 to pay the good uncle.

But he said they have 'tiao2 zheng3'ed the price and each plate costs $2.50 now.

i think the noodles are worth the $2.50 and there's nothing funny there.
It's the 'tiao2 zheng3' which i find funny.
Whats this officialgahmenlingospeak doing at my heartland "hawker centre"!!

1128h: Reached and registered at the polyclinic
1135h: Called into the room
1142h: Shot in the arm
1143h: Left the place.

i am now officially unafraid of chickenpox.

Went to get the 2nd shot of vaccination (no, they come in 2 shots, not becos i kiasu) last Sat and with that i'm supposed to be protected for life. That's right. Contrary to popular belief, the vaccine lasts for a lifetime and not just 5 years. And contrary to popular belief, the polyclinic can actually be a very efficient place.
