Singapore!

'Guess who's back? Back again...'

Thanks everyone for your prayers and wishes... SQ319 safely arrived in Changi International Airport yesterday with my family and i...

Homecoming always brings out mixed feelings in me.. For one, there are the food and friends but then again, it also means work is just around the corner... Thankfully i still hav 2 more days of leave before the routine starts so these few days will be spent catching up on much needed rest and running much needed errands.. So if i never call you to ask you out, donch blame me ok... Really need to spend more time with myself after spending the entire last 2 weeks with my family... Yes, i'm somewhat of a loner, if you didn't already know..

Lame excuses

DuhEconomist apologises for not blogging this week.. Fortunately, he will not come up with lame excuses like 'Blogger's Block' but instead ask for everyone's understanding becos his parents + aunts + sis & fren are here in London, leaving him with not enough time to eat, rest or pack his luggage, much less blog...

Anyway, some 3 days ago, i officially graduated from my course, hence putting the ECONOMIST in DuhEconomist... Got a Second Upper overall... Not exactly the best of results and i'm not exactly the happiest of all people but i'm quite contented lar...

To the pple "vandalising" on 'My Graffiti Board': thanks for reading this blog and tagging me... No replies from me not becos i am dao but becos all your tags are quite random and i also dun really know how to respond to them... Thanks for the regards, compliments, offers to prank call and declarations of support for Italy.. i'm sure me and my long-supported Holland team will appreciate it very much... =)

Deutschland!

This is me, blogging LIVE (as if in still alive) in Germany where i actually watched the Germany v Portugal in a German 'jersey' but fell asleep during the second half... In my defense, i was tired... Anyway, the keyboard here is difficult to use and Internet time is expensive. That's all for now... Will blog more soon..

Long time no blog

Firstly, i blame the fact that my laptop dieded... after many months of displaying 'SMART drive detects imminent hard disc failure. Press F1 to ignore' whenever i start my comp... my poor hard disc has decided that enough is enough and it will not stand for being ignored anymore... so it dieded, and i'm left with going around using other pple's computers...

Then, things are complicated by the fact that i'm ridiculously busy... it was becos i was preparing for my family (parents + 2 aunts) arrival and vacation in Europe, which is a terrible thing to prepare for if you're not prepared for it... Anyway, they're here now and i've become ridiculously busy showing them around...
But you see, what i really want to write about is the World Cup.

Although i'm no big soccer football fan, i've always enjoyed watching big matches when i'm in london becos it's the 'right' timezone... for example, it was fun watching match after match after match of Euro 2004... However, World Cup 2006 is a completely different experience...

To begin with every team that i really support / support slightly / don't dislike too much got beaten either in the Top 16 or quarterfinals... So it ended up with my Bottom Four: France, Italy, Portugal, Germany getting into the semis...

So when the semis came and i wasn't sure who to support, i did what any good 'The Economist' reader will do, i supported free markets...

So Germany v Italy. Go Angela Merkel and highly watered down economic reforms! But the lousy economic left-winging Azzuris had to win... France v Portugal. Down with populist and short-sighted Chirac! but of cos you know what happened...

As such, i officially declare this, 'Worst World Cup Ever' until further notice.
