The "BBQ Life"
This is officially the Bestest BBQ ever, becos it was organised by me! bwahahahaha! No actually, it's not the first BBQ i've organised but this one was really good becos i was very thankfully able to avoid several potential BBQ landmines by pre-cooking the meat the eliminating sweet potatoes from the menu...
Anyway, this is definitely one of the last instances where we could actually gather so many LSErs... i must honestly say that i felt a tinge of sadness to see people off that night not knowing when will be the next time we meet again. i guess that's the not-so-great thing about studying abroad, you make frens who may not be working/living in the same area as you are after graduation...
Hopefully we can pull off another gathering before more pple leave UK...Day 2 : 8 June 06 - "Korean BBQ"
Met Andy in school today to chat and pray... Caught up with RR one last time to pass him the bags he left at my house from the BBQ.. Realised that this may really very well be the last time i see him becos everybody knows tt once RR arrives in SG, he disappears under the radar and the only chance anyone has of seeing him is to bump into him and his gf at orchard... Anyway, we took pict together but basket the pic is in his camera...
Anyway, went for Korean BBQ with Chang Yate and Fangting at 'ARANG' in the evening... i dunno why i keep pronouncing it as 'Ah-Rung' but Chang Yate insists it's 'Er-Rang'... it's my first time having Korean food outside Korea so i didn't really know wad to expect... Anyway, Chang Yate was buying the meal so we let him do the ordering... He ordered so much food!!! Yet more proof of how generous a person he is.. haha.. We had like dishes and dishes and dishes which kept coming non-stop... Anyway, i tried to 'blinkymummify' my blog so i took like 50million pics of the restaurant and the food.. it actually felt quite weird... Anyway, the dinner was fantastic! The dishes were actually quite SEAsian in taste, some of them even tasted suspiciously like they had sambal belachan in them... However, the dish which i found most interesting was the fruits at the end of the dinner... The kitchen was innovative enough to serve sliced oranges by cutting up the orange into half, erm... it's like damn hard to describe so i shall just post the pic below and u go figure...
We walked Fangting back to her place after dinner... Along the way, we passed the Central Saint Martin's campus along Charing Cross Road... CSM is actually some fantastic arts college which is part of University of the Arts London and this campus has 2 display windows facing the main street, where they always feature some interesting exhibit.. So anyway, this is the more interesting one this time:
Then, sharp and observant Chang Yate noticed this:
Wah lau, even SG also hard to find this liao leh! Basket the Brits use for this kind of thing...
Day 3 : 9 Jun 06 - Leftover BBQ
Nothing much lar... actually i was quite tired from going out for the last 2 days so i just stayed home today to rest and relax... Kenny decided that since we have leftover coal and food from wed, we might as well have another BBQ... So here we go, my first authentic Ang-mor World Cup experience, although the food was extremely limited and the match was crappy (Ecuador v Poland)...
