This is why I cried

This is why we serve.
This is why we put on uniforms and go thru hell.
This is why we put up with unreasonable demands and ridiculous hours.
This is why we can peel ourselves away from what we love to do most, to do what we need to do most.
This is why we leave home and go to faraway places.

Becos there are pple whom we love and long to protect.
This is what makes us human.
